Stampede Days Street Party

Ahead of the return of Stampede Days, the three-day homestand for the city’s first-ever professional bull riding team on Aug. 16-18, the Nashville Stampede today announced that genre-bending DJ duo VAVO, pioneers of the YEEDM genre, will headline the on-dirt entertainment inside Bridgestone Arena on Saturday, Aug 17 when the bull riding action concludes.

Alongside bringing VAVO to fans inside Bridgestone Arena, the Stampede also announced the return of the Stampede Street Party, a free-to-attend, family-friendly street festival to be held in tandem with the event from Aug. 16-18.

The Stampede Street Party will take over Rep. John Lewis Way S between Broadway and Demonbreun, opening at 12 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, and 10 a.m. on Sunday, August 18.

The faces and creators of YEEDM, VAVO occupies a distinct space within the music ecosystem, merging country music and true EDM production to create a wide-spanning sound that has connected with audiences across the globe. The pair, comprised of Canadian-born Jessie Fischer and London native Alden Martin, has given rise to YEEDM with performances at the 2024 ACM Awards (a first-of-its-kind collaboration), EDC Las Vegas, Stagecoach Festival, Australia’s CMC Rocks, and the Wynn Las Vegas, where they are currently an artist in residence. With more than 100 million streams on their original music alone, the EDM Award nominee has collaborated with artists including Kane Brown, Nate Smith, Dylan Scott, Mitchell Tenpenny and Priscilla Block, remixing their hottest tracks into YEEDM sensations. Throughout it all, the innovative pair has earned multiple No. 1 hits on US Dance Radio and entries on Billboard’s Dance charts. With upcoming appearances in France, Germany, Canada, the U.S., and noteworthy music events around the world, things are just heating up for VAVO. Their latest release, “Comeback Kid,” is available now.

VAVO will play following the Nashville Stampede’s game against the Arizona Ridge Riders on Saturday, Aug. 17. Everyone with an event ticket will be able to take in the performance. Fans who wish to experience VAVO up-close can purchase a $25 ticket, taxes and fees not included, to watch the concert from the dirt. The add-on is available for purchase at Ticketmaster.com.

Outside of Bridgestone Arena, from Aug. 16-18, daily at the Stampede Street Party fans will be able to get up close with the 2022 PBR Teams Champion Nashville Stampede and some of the sport’s top animal athletes, all the while testing their skills atop a mechanical bull. Additionally, PBR and Nashville Stampede merchandise will be available for purchase, alongside custom art, apparel and hats from Cosmic Cowgirls. Local food trucks will also have for-purchase food and beverage options.

Eventgoers will have the chance to interact with a host of exhibitors including Wrangler, Dan Post Boots, ORCA (Outdoor Recreation Company of America), GCI Outdoor, Camping World, WIX Filters, Tuff Shed, PBR Nashville, the Nashville Sounds and Nashville Superspeedway.

The lineup of artists includes:

  • Andy Velo (Friday, Aug. 16 @ 4:30 p.m. & Saturday, Aug. 17 @ 6 p.m.): Raised in North Georgia, Andy Velo knew at just 11 years old that he wanted to spend his life in country music. Making the move to Nashville 12 years ago and building his fan base opening for some of today’s biggest names in country music has laid the foundation for Velo to bring his high-energy show across the country and abroad. Velo has released several albums, tallying up more than 20 million streams, including his latest double studio album, “Way Out,” that includes the singles, “Dying Breed," “Boxed Wine,” “Bombs Away,” and also "Half-Truths & Other Lies," which spent multiple weeks at #1 of CMT’s 12 Pack Countdown. Velo will perform live in 2024 across the U.S. as he releases the second half of his highly anticipated double album throughout the year.

  • Mae Estes (Friday, Aug. 16 @ 6:30 p.m.): Mae Estes got her start at age 7 in the middle of an Arkansas rodeo arena, singing the national anthem, and the Hope, Arkansas native, hasn’t stopped singing since. Paying dues in Music City for nearly a decade, she’s now stacked with stories to tell. In 2019, Estes began releasing music and signed her first publishing deal with Plaid Flag Music in 2020. She’s since racked up more than 13 million streams across platforms and more than 1M views on YouTube, independently and organically building a quickly-growing fan base with her “plain-spoken truth” (The Boot). In 2022, “Thinkin Bout Cheatin’” became the first release from her debut EP as well as her first video feature on CMT. That same year, Estes was honored with Arkansas CMA Female Vocalist of the Year for the second time. In 2023, Estes independently released her debut EP, “Before the Record”, a six-song project produced by hit songwriter Paul Sikes. Later that year, she announced a signing with Big Machine Records, WME Agency, Kobalt Music, and Blue Bronco Entertainment. Post-pandemic events such as The Grand Ole Opry, NHL Stadium Series, PBR Stadium Series, Music City Grand Prix, Wrangler’s National Finals Rodeo, The Bluebird Cafe, CMA Fest, Nissan Stadium, The Country Music Hall of Fame and more have hosted this “stone-cold country newcomer” (Whiskey Riff). AIMP’s 2024 Rising Artist-Writer of the Year winner Estes is one of the key Country females to watch, named to CMT’s Next Women of Country Class of 2024 and a slew of artist watch lists (iHeart Media, Wide Open Country, Cowgirl Magazine, Entertainment Focus, Country Now, etc.). Estes prioritizes supporting our servicemen and women, having toured internationally with Armed Forces Entertainment and CreatiVets. She joins a host of fellow country artists and festivals on tour this year, while releasing new music from her upcoming project.

  • Sam L. Smith (Saturday, Aug. 17 @ 1:30 p.m.): Sam L. Smith is a more modern traditionalist country singer, songwriter and Nashville recording artist who believes in reviving that true country music sound. Smith grew up in a small town in Kentucky in a multi-generation family playing Bluegrass music. He listened to pure-country vocals stars like Keith Whitley, George Strait, Alan Jackson and Tim McGraw and  became drawn to the electrifying energy of modern stars like Josh Turner, Cody Johnson, Dierks Bentley and Jon Pardi. Fast forward to present day; Smith’s hit original song “Blue Jackets,” which is a tribute to the Future Farmers of America (FFA), has blown up and has been heard half a million times throughout all platforms. Smith’s catchy country song “The Way You Make Me Feel” went to #1 on the “Independent World Country Charts.” Smith has played at some of the biggest stages like Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky, and Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, and has been nominated for 2022 “Country Male Artist of the Year” at the Grand Ole Opry House for The Josie Awards, and 2020 ICMA “New Artist of the Year.” WBCW Florida's Country Radio Awards named Sam the “Male Artist of the Year'' in 2020. Smith, who was on Season 21 of American Idol, has opened for national acts such as Ricky Skaggs, Senora May, Ronnie McDowell and more. Smith has toured across the United States playing all-age, family-friendly shows at county fairs, concert series, festivals, churches and venues. He brings on an energetic show that makes fans want to either stand up, clap their hands, tap their toe or all three at the same time.

  • Charly Reynolds (Sunday, Aug. 18 @ 12 p.m.): Charly Reynolds, a magnetic 24-year-old singer-songwriter hailing from the sunshine state of Florida, is carving out her niche in country music. Her first release in 2024, "Love You Long," stands as one of her most poignant and authentic tracks yet, recently receiving editorial support for all DSPs. This emotive piece marks the first of four singles preceding her eagerly anticipated debut full-length album, slated for release September 20. Reynolds recently performed at Forefront Productions' Live In The Vineyard Goes Country this April, joining Sara Evans, Rodney Atkins, Scotty McCreery, Ernest, and more. Reynolds' rendition of "Neon Moon" made waves when it featured in the Season 5 finale of FOX's gripping medical drama, THE RESIDENT, subsequently unveiled as a standalone single in late October. In 2023, Reynolds' released her debut EP, "Perfect Timing," a six-song collection featuring the infectious summer anthem "Top Off," whose accompanying music video has garnered over one million views. Additionally, the EP includes the raw and heartfelt "One Day at a Time" alongside the poignant ballad "Flowers." The EP's launch was celebrated with two sold-out album release shows in Nashville, TN, and Orlando, FL, setting the stage for Reynolds' headlining tour, "Nashville Hits The Roof," which traversed Tin Roof venues across the Southeast and her debut at Country Thunder in Florida, supporting Cody Johnson, Parker McCollum and JoDee Messina.
