Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced that the Predators will open their six-game 2016 preseason schedule on Sept. 27 with a doubleheader at Florida before playing a pair of games with both the Tampa Bay Lightning and Columbus Blue Jackets, two of which will take place at Bridgestone Arena.
The 2016 preseason slate marks the fifth consecutive training camp – and third straight year – that the Predators and Panthers have played a split-squad doubleheader. Nashville will then travel to Columbus to take on the Blue Jackets two days later on Sept. 29 before heading home to host the Lightning on Oct. 1 and the Blue Jackets on Oct. 4. The Predators will wrap up their 2016 preseason on Oct. 8 at Amalie Arena in Tampa. The 2016-17 regular season opens the following week.
The 2016 Nashville Predators rookie camp is scheduled to open Thursday, Sept. 15, with the team’s prospects traveling to Coral Springs, Florida, for a rookie tournament against the Washington Capitals, Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers from Sept. 17-20. Veterans will then report for testing and physicals on Thursday, Sept. 22.
