BRIDGESTONE ARENA RANKS NINTH IN U.S. CONCERT ATTENDANCE IN POLLSTAR’S 2012 THIRD QUARTER REPORT

Nashville, Tenn. (October 16, 2012) – Bridgestone Arena ranks ninth in the United States and 31st in the world for concert attendance, according to international trade publication Pollstar’s Third Quarter Ticket Sales report. This is Bridgestone Arena’s second consecutive year in the Top 10 of Pollstar’s Third Quarter ticket sales rankings.

“The community’s response to this year’s events has been fantastic” Bridgestone Arena VP of Booking David Kells said. “We’ve been fortunate to fill Bridgestone Arena with something for everyone, starting the year with Drake and Jason Aldean and continuing with Winter Jam, Big Time Rush, Eric Church, James Taylor, Barry Manilow and Rod Stewart, with recent shows Jason Mraz and Carrie Underwood.  The support of the Nashville music community, our promoter partners, the managers, performers and our entire organization make it possible for us continue this success and bring world-class entertainment to Nashville.”

 Upcoming Bridgestone Arena events include Rascal Flatts (Oct. 19), CMA Awards (Nov. 1), The Who (Dec. 2), the Grammy Nominations Concert (Dec. 5) and Aerosmith (Dec. 13), MTSU vs. Vanderbilt Men’s Basketball (Dec. 21) and Western Kentucky vs. Louisville Men’s Basketball (Dec. 22).

Serving as the home for numerous national and international events, Bridgestone Arena has the distinction of being one of the busiest venues in the Unites States over the past decade and a half. Bridgestone Arena was named the sixth-busiest building in the U.S. by Pollstar magazine in 2010 and 2011 and has been a finalist for their Concert Industry Arena of the Year Award in each of the past five years. The NHL’s Nashville Predators have been the primary tenant of Bridgestone Arena since 1998 – just two years after the venue opened its doors for its first concert. The list of acts that call Bridgestone Arena home is lengthy and includes the CMA Awards, the CMT Awards, Keith Urban’s “We’re All For the Hall” benefit concerts, Disney On Ice, SEC Men’s and Women’s basketball and NCAA Men’s Basketball (2000, 2002, 2005 and 2012). The arena will also host the NCAA Women’s Final Four in 2014.
